The Salisbury community reports a successful and peaceful carnival celebration during Mas Bawi 2010. The Salisbury Enhancement Committee Inc., a community based organization, owes the success of the event to the individuals, organizations and businesses that offered their support and sponsorship by in cash or kind during the carnival activities. Sponsors of the events were the Government of Dominica, Jolly's Pharmacy Ltd - agents for Monster, H.H.V. Whitchurch & Co Ltd - agents for Carib Beer, Josephine Gabriel & Co Ltd - agents for Heineken, Best Deal Car Rental, Concept Technology, West Coast Cooperative Credit Union, and Public Works Cooperation.  

Members of the community such as Chris Jno Jules, Eli Anthony, Gilbert Frederick, Clifton “Stone” Toulon, Brian Louis, Morrison Louis, Alton “Pastor BJ” Julien, Nick Jno Charles, and others also made financial contributions to the organisation for the Mas Bawi celebrations.   

The Salisbury Enhcancement Committee Inc. identified several individuals who were instrumental in the execution of the tasks associated with Mas Bawi 2010. Without the assistance of persons such as the Parliamentary Representative Mr. Hector “Spags” John, Senator Bentley J. Royer, Sharon Charles, Frances Esprit, Billary Matthew, Peter and Bjon Vidal, Shannon Louis, Shanna Williams, Elpha “FaFa” Vidal, Yolanda Harry, Patrick “Ghost P” Smith, Reginald John, Kerryanne Luke Dianne Roudette, Lauren Frederick, Stephan Jno Jules, Merina Sebastian, Leroy Williams and others, the two-day festivities would not have been possible. SEC also commended the efforts of the police officers on patrol, and to the community for their contributions and cooperation.

While the community organization continues to work to make positive changes, SEC remains persistent in their expectation that all efforts continue to be collaborative, so as to ensure maximum benefits for the entire community.
