The Salisbury Enhancement Committee (SEC) Inc. in collaboration with various community groups has planned a major Cleanup and Beautification Project for Saturday, August 21 under the theme, “Enhancing our Community through Community Spirit”.

SEC Inc. is particularly calling on the village youth to get involved and support the initiative. In addition, the project will afford 4^thand 5^th form students the opportunity to participate in a community service venture, since this is a requirement for graduating at the secondary school level.

Efforts are being made to obtain plants and flowers to decorate along the village bus stop area.

So far, villagers have contributed in kind towards the project. However, more items such as gloves, garbage bags, bottles of water, fuel and 2- cycle oil for the brush cutters are still needed.

 The activity is scheduled for 6 a.m. Motorists are advised to drive carefully along the Salisbury highway on that day.

The assistance of the Dominica Solid Waste Management Corporation has been solicited to pick up the garbage collected on that day.

SEC is also encouraging its residents and neighbours to avoid dumping garbage over the precipice along the Salisbury highway, as this is not an official dumping site.
